EVENT: ECHO PARK CRAFT FAIR

On Saturday December 13 & Sunday December 14th Mack Sennett Studios welcomes back the Echo Park Craft Fair! This year over 70 of the most innovative, high-quality arts vendors in Southern California will be gathering together to sell their goods. Founded by Beatrice Valenzuela and Rachel Craven, the Echo Park Craft Fair originated as communal space to showcase and nurture the many talented artists living in their inspired community on the Eastside of Los Angeles. Many of these original vendors have evolved alongside the event to become established, celebrated brands. Don’t miss your opportunity to visit this year’s fair to see all the incredible hand crafted items that are on display and support local artists while taking care of holiday gift shopping! The EPCF will run from Noon-6PM Saturday Dec 13 and Sunday Dec 14. A portion of the proceeds go to 826 LA – A non profit writing and tutoring center in Echo Park.

 

EVENT: CHET FAKER FOR REDBULL’S 30 DAYS IN LA

On Saturday November 29th RedBull Sound Select brought Aussie darling Chet Faker to Mack Sennett Studios for an extremely sold out show. This performance was the second to last in RedBull’s 30 Days in LA event series, and it’s safe to say we saw that they went out with a bang! Everyone from label execs to music bloggers to fans packed out Stage 1 for the openers Denitia & Sene, James Supercave, and stayed to dance and sing along to Chet Faker’s Built on Glass. THE NO BUDGET FILM FESTIVAL

This year, Mack Sennett Studios partnered with cARTel: Collaborative Arts LA to present the No Budget Film Festival. This event features the next generation of visionary independent filmmakers who’ve made great work without the big bucks. Now in its 5th year, the industry-heavy festival runs a weekend of exciting and unique events, including panels, exclusive (and non-stuffy) networking opportunities, parties, packed screenings and even a special UCB Shitty Jobs show. Congrats to all the winners, including cARTel Selects Special Mention for Innovation Award: Newborn; Cinematography Award: Kintsugi; Innovation Award: Mirror In Mind; Special Jury Prize- Directing: Eye In Tuna Care; Special Jury Prize-Writing: Countryphile; Audience Award: Dave’s Beard; Grand Jury Prize: This is Not the End. EVENT: HENDRICKS’ GIN EMPORIUM OF THE UNUSUAL

On November 20th the Hendricks’ Gin team “in cheery defiance of the mundane” turned Mack Sennett Studios into their signature Emporium of the Unusual.  These traveling events, in which Hendricks’ “inadvertently shift the world’s balance of the normal to the ODD”, “curates an an assemblage of curiosities for the mind and palate”. This was by far one of the most breathtakingly creative and extremely entertaining events we’ve had the pleasure of hosting at our studio and we strongly suggest you sign up for Hendricks’ list to receive an invite to the next one!

PRESS: LAist COVERS THE EASTSIDE FOOD FEST

LAist is excited for the Eastside Food Festival! “The “iHeartSilverlake Eastside Food Festival” will take place from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the historic Mack Sennett Studios space. They’ll have 25 vendors at the event—and from the names they’ve released so far, they’ve got our attention: Black Cat, Donut Friend, El Condor, Elf, Gualaguetza, L& E Oyster Bar, Little Beast, Pine & Crane, Oinkster, and Better Boosh for kombucha.” Read more here.
